Diane Lyons, CMP, DMCP, President & CEO
Diane Lyons, CMP, DMCP, began her tourism career in New Orleans at a DMC in 1985, after leaving her professional career as a teacher in the early 1980's. After several years in the destination management field as the Director of Operations for a large national firm, she became Director of Sales for one of the nation's first DMCs based in New Orleans. In 1991, to fill the need for a safe, exciting place for the children of working parents who were attending meetings and conventions, Diane created ACCENT on Children's Arrangements, Inc. As a result of the creation of this niche company, Diane has been named "Author of the Year" by PCMA and has been featured in USA Today and on Good Morning America. Later Diane expanded her business to provide DMC services in New Orleans, thus ACCENT on Arrangements-DMC was created. In 2004, she was named a top business woman of New Orleans by New Orleans City Business Magazine. Diane currently serves on the Executive Board of the DMC Network as Director of Communications and is a contributing editor to Experient's Meeting Mentor magazine.
Diane has surrounded herself with a team of professionals, all of whom are driven to meet clients' needs and exceed their expectations. Watching this team grow and develop, Diane spends time nurturing their strengths, helping them see their value in this industry. There is no doubt that Diane is deeply committed to the rebuilding of New Orleans one event at a time.
With a belief that the best education you can give your family is by traveling with your children, Diane has traveled extensively to many wonderful locales around the world. The experience of biking the Golden Gate Bridge or scuba diving in Belize cannot come from a book: these events must be lived! Diane has a non-stop lifestyle and loves the New Orleans hospitality industry. She has run the Mardi Gras half marathon twice, loves to bike, and never misses a chance to eat at New Orleans' new, and not-so-new, restaurants.
Diane attributes the success of her business to her wonderfully supportive husband, Jack and her two amazing sons who believed in her ability to grow a business from a thought to a thriving company. Her sons and daughters-in-law (John and London, Thomas and Stephanie) have blessed her with the newest additions to her growing family: two adorable granddaughters, Catherine and Kate. In addition to her lovely family, she also has two cats Dora and Louis.
